What does this look like for your business?

For a Plumber in Bristol
"plumber bristol"

Your card triggers a search for plumbers in Bristol before taking the customer to your review page. Google sees a Bristol customer searching for a plumber and choosing you.

For a Cafe in Manchester
"cafe manchester"

Tapping the card tells Google that someone looking for a cafe in Manchester visited your listing and left a 5-star review.

Questions

How it works in practice

Do I have to do anything technical?
No. When you checkout, you just tick the "Add Search Rank Boost" box and tell us your business name and town. We handle the URL encoding and programming. The card arrives ready to use.
Does the customer see the search happening?
Usually, it happens too fast to notice. The link briefly touches Google's search results page (registering the hit) before immediately redirecting them directly to your review form.
Is this specific to Google Maps cards?
Yes. The Rank Boost relies on Google's search architecture. It isn't available for Trustpilot or AutoTrader cards, as their ranking algorithms work differently.
Can I change the keyword later?
Because the URL is hard-encoded onto the physical NFC chip inside the card, it cannot be changed remotely. We recommend picking your broadest, most valuable local keyword (e.g. "Builder [Town Name]").
